Plans have been submitted to construct 115 one-bedroom apartments on the former site of 'The Place' nightclub in Stoke-on-Trent.
'The Place,' which opened in 1963, was reportedly the UK's first discotheque and a popular destination that attracted renowned artists such as David Bowie and Led Zeppelin. It drew significant crowds from the wider Midlands region.
The venue was demolished in 2015. Now, H&S Construction, a local building firm, is proposing to develop the land into two residential blocks.
