20 Dec
Summary
- Carol concert held outside Stoke-on-Trent's former town hall.
- Event raised funds for Egret Homes CIC accommodation charity.
- Building to be transformed into a hotel with new proposals.

Hanley Town Hall in Stoke-on-Trent was recently illuminated for a special carol concert, signaling a new chapter for the historic building. The event successfully raised funds for Egret Homes CIC, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing accommodation and support for young people.
The former town hall, which closed in 2020, has been purchased by developers Heronceau Properties. Organiser Simon Edwards expressed excitement about revitalizing the long-empty building, stating plans are underway to transform it into a hotel.
New proposals for the site include a tea room, event spaces, and hotel accommodation, aiming to bring the 1869-built structure back to life. The free event also provided an opportunity for community input on the building's future.
