Stockard Channing: From Recluse to Red Carpet

Stockard Channing recently made a notable return to the spotlight at the European premiere of 'Practical Magic 2' in London. This marked her first red carpet appearance in two years, having last been seen in 2024. She posed alongside fellow cast members, including Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock.

Channing's appearance comes weeks after she shared a personal essay reflecting on her life as a "recluse." She described her move from Maine to London as coinciding with political shifts in the U.S. and spoke candidly about the profound impact of her partner Dan Gillham's death in 2014.

In the essay, the actress revealed plans to direct Samuel Beckett's 'Krapp's Last Tape' in Edinburgh later this year. She also offered a glimpse into her daily routines, including journaling and her relationship with her dog, Benny.

'Practical Magic 2,' the sequel to the 1998 film, promises ancestral magic and a confrontation with a dark curse threatening the Owens sisters. The film is scheduled for release on Friday, September 11, 2026.
