Stockard Channing, who portrayed Rizzo in the iconic 1978 musical Grease, has revealed a surprising detail: she has only seen the film a mere two times. The first viewing was at the opening premiere, where she noted her disappointment with her animated portrayal in the opening credits.
Channing recalled her second viewing occurring two decades later, also at the TCL Chinese Theatre. She expressed a strong aversion to rewatching the movie, stating, "I do not watch it. That's it. I'm afraid." Despite this, she affirmed her pride in the film's legacy and its enduring popularity.
The actress is currently promoting the sequel to her 1998 film, Practical Magic. In the sequel, she reprises her role alongside Dianne Wiest, who also expressed surprise at Channing's animated depiction. The film, set to be released on September 11, 2026, involves a multi-generational struggle to break a family curse.
