Wonder's Classic Era: Live Celebration!

A vibrant celebration of Stevie Wonder's influential early to mid-1970s albums is currently underway at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. This multi-night event features accomplished musicians and the Black Rock Coalition Orchestra paying tribute to the legendary artist's transformative "classic period."

Central to the tribute is Stevie Wonder's 1972-1976 output, a time when he redefined popular music. Musicians are honing performances of iconic ballads like "You Are The Sunshine of My Life" and the seminal album "Songs In The Key of Life."

"Songs In The Key of Life," recorded over nine months at New York City's The Hit Factory, is highlighted for its impact. The studio's owner noted that Wonder's extended booking significantly altered the studio's trajectory, attracting major artists. This special musical homage aligns with Stevie Wonder's 76th birthday.
