Musician Steven Wilson is set to release his third solo album within three years, titled Requiem For A Village. He has also been actively working on other projects, including a highly anticipated follow-up to the 2012 Storm Corrosion album.
Wilson collaborated with Opeth's Mikael Åkerfeldt, spending a week in Benny Andersson of Abba's Stockholm studio. Together, they developed a 45-minute piece of music described as mostly acoustic, dark, and atonal in places, with a vaguely nautical theme. Wilson expressed excitement about the project, noting that vocal tracking is still pending.
Beyond Storm Corrosion, Wilson confirmed that material for both Porcupine Tree and No-Man is in development. He and his No-Man partner Tim Bowness have sketched out enough material for a double album. Additionally, Wilson and Andy Partridge of XTC have discussed creating a trilogy of albums, with a potential sequel to Requiem For A Village being considered for relatively quick production.
