Flaming Lips Guitarist Steven Drozd Departs Band

Steven Drozd, a core member of the Flaming Lips for over three decades, has reportedly left the band. Drozd, who joined in 1991 and served as a primary songwriter alongside Wayne Coyne, confirmed his departure in a social media post. He indicated that the band had initiated the separation, stating, "They're done with me." This move marks the end of his extensive tenure with the psych-rock group, with whom he never previously took a break.
