The National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas will host its annual Armed Forces Weekend on June 27 and 28, featuring a significant display by the Military Vehicle Trust (MVT). This event aims to bring history to life by showcasing around 15 ex-military vehicles from various eras, including those used in World War Two and the 1950s, alongside Land Rovers and motorbikes.
Organizers anticipate thousands of visitors and have planned a "packed programme" of free attractions. Attendees can enjoy live music, commemorative events, and interactive activities suitable for all ages. The MVT's collection, restored and displayed by its 6,500 members, serves as a striking focal point.
This display offers a unique opportunity for vehicle owners to engage with veterans and serving personnel. MVT organizer Neill Elliott highlighted the profound satisfaction of hearing veterans share memories related to the vehicles, emphasizing the trust's passion for preserving and showcasing military automotive history.
