SRK's Rs 42 Lakh Gesture Boosts Marathi Film 'Deool Band 2'

Shah Rukh Khan's company, Red Chillies Entertainment, provided crucial financial assistance to the Marathi film 'Deool Band 2' by waiving approximately Rs 42 lakh in Digital Cinema Package (DCP) fees. This act of generosity by the Bollywood superstar enabled the film's release at a critical juncture. The film has since achieved remarkable box-office success, grossing over Rs 80 crore. Filmmaker Pravin Tarde shared that the initial DCP estimate was Rs 42 lakh, a sum the production team could not afford. Khan learned of the situation and directed his company to waive the bill, prioritizing the film's release. This support arrived when the film's commercial viability was uncertain, making Khan's belief in the project particularly significant. 'Deool Band 2' is now projected to reach Rs 100 crore, with its success attributed in part to this invaluable early support. The film, a spiritual sequel, explores themes of farmer suicides and the conflict between faith and atheism.
