- The ship served for almost 50 years and is a maritime heritage reminder.

The Spurn Lightship, a vessel instrumental in guiding ships through the Humber Estuary, is preparing for its grand reopening. Following significant restoration efforts within the £27.5 million Hull Maritime project, the historic ship will commence public tours on March 7th. This marks its return to visitor access after being closed since 2018.
The lightship, originally built in 1927 and operational for nearly five decades, will now be berthed at Hull Marina. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the ship and learn about its rich maritime legacy. The authority confirmed that free tickets will be released on February 20th, encouraging pre-booking due to limited capacity.
Council leader Councillor Mike Ross expressed excitement, stating, "The Spurn Lightship is a remarkable reminder of our city's proud maritime past, and it's fantastic to be able to welcome visitors back on board." The restored lightship will operate weekly from Wednesday to Sunday, from 11:00 to 15:00 GMT, weather permitting.
