This event, produced by the Asbury Park Africa-American Music Project (AP-AMP), aims to honor Carter's significant musical legacy. Carter, the only E Street Band member raised in Asbury Park, joined the band in 1974 and recorded "Born to Run" at 914 Sound Studios.
Following his time with the E Street Band, Carter collaborated with numerous artists and groups. The performance will feature a lineup of talented musicians, including Tommy Labella and Billy Hector. AP-AMP is dedicated to preserving and promoting the music and heritage of Asbury Park's African-American community.
