Springsteen Biopic Premieres in NYC, Sparks Buzz for Upcoming 'Social Reckoning' Sequel

Last month, the 63rd New York Film Festival brought the highly anticipated Bruce Springsteen biopic, "Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere," to the city's Alice Tully Hall for its premiere. The film, which is set in the early 1980s during the recordings of "Born in the USA" and "Nebraska," stars rising actor Jeremy Allen White in a transformative performance as the iconic rocker.

In addition to the Springsteen biopic, the festival also generated buzz around the upcoming sequel to the 2010 film "The Social Network." Titled "The Social Reckoning," the new movie will see Jeremy Allen White reunite with his "Springsteen" co-star Jeremy Strong, who is set to reprise his role as Mark Zuckerberg. While White remained tight-lipped about the details, he confirmed that he has read the script and is excited to work with writer and director Aaron Sorkin again.

Interestingly, the original film's star, Andrew Garfield, will not be returning for the sequel. "Eduardo [Saverin] is in Singapore having a good time," Garfield told IndieWire when asked about his involvement. However, the actor expressed enthusiasm about eventually seeing the new film, which is scheduled to hit theaters on October 9, 2026. Joining White and Strong in the cast are Mikey Madison and comedian Bill Burr, who will bring to life the true story of how a young Facebook engineer, Frances Haugen, blew the whistle on the social network's guarded secrets.
