On November 7, 2025, Spotify hosted the first edition of its I-Pop Icons Live event in Mumbai, celebrating India's leading pop artists and the rapid rise of the country's I-Pop (Indian Pop) movement. The event featured electrifying performances by a lineup of top I-Pop stars, including King, Armaan Malik, Jonita Gandhi, Aditya Rikhari, Kushagra, Hansika Pareek, and Sanju Rathod.
Over the past few years, I-Pop has emerged as one of the fastest-growing genres on Spotify, bridging languages and regional sounds. Several I-Pop tracks regularly feature on Spotify's Weekly Top Songs India chart, with Aditya Rikhari's "Sahiba" currently holding the top position. Out of the top 20 songs in India, 12 belong to I-Pop artists, showcasing the genre's expanding fan base.
Spotify has been deeply invested in nurturing the I-Pop ecosystem, through curated playlists, exclusive artist collaborations, and now, the first-ever I-Pop Icons Live event. Dhruvank Vaidya, Head of Music and Podcasts at Spotify India, expressed the platform's commitment to supporting the growth of Indian pop music, stating that the future of the genre looks brighter than ever.
