Spinal Tap Tribute Album Rocks for Teen Cancer Charity

In a unique collaboration, a group of renowned musicians have come together to honor the iconic fictional band Spinal Tap and raise funds for a worthy cause. The Majesty of Rock, a 32-song compilation, features contributions from members of Guns N' Roses, Foo Fighters, The Go-Go's, Tool, and other legendary acts, all paying tribute to Spinal Tap's musical and comedic legacy.

The album, produced by journalist and podcaster Marc Shea, is being used to support Teen Cancer America, a non-profit organization founded by The Who's Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend. The charity runs cancer programs for teens and young adults aged 15-39, a demographic often overlooked in the fight against the disease.

Staying true to the spirit of Spinal Tap, many of the musicians involved have created fake bands for their contributions, adding an extra layer of humor to the project. The compilation includes classic Tap tunes like "Sex Farm," "(Listen to the) Flower People," "Hell Hole," and "Big Bottom," all performed by an impressive array of musical talent.

Only 5,000 digital copies of The Majesty of Rock will be available, with a minimum donation of $19.84 required to purchase the album, a nod to the year This is Spinal Tap was released. The funds raised will go towards supporting Teen Cancer America's vital work, ensuring that young people facing cancer receive the specialized care and support they need.
