Spider-Man Shatters Box Office: Rs 9,550 Crore Global Haul

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has achieved a remarkable feat, earning over Rs 9,550 crore worldwide in its initial five days of release. The blockbuster's performance in India has been particularly strong, accumulating Rs 336.91 crore, while overseas markets contributed Rs 5,700 crore. This success solidifies its position as a major Hollywood release this year.

On its fifth day, the film collected an estimated Rs 23.80 crore nett in India, marking a significant decline from Sunday's collection. However, this dip follows a record-breaking opening weekend. The cumulative nett collection in India has reached an estimated Rs 281.75 crore, with gross earnings at Rs 336.91 crore. The movie is poised to cross the Rs 350 crore gross mark and potentially reach Rs 400 crore within its first week.

Further boosting its performance, an IMAX release is scheduled for August 7, expected to increase average ticket prices. Industry analysts predict Spider-Man: Brand New Day will continue its successful run, aiming for a global milestone of USD 1.5 billion (approximately Rs 13,000 crore), aided by limited competition in the coming weeks.

The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, follows Peter Parker's journey as New York's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. It stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, and Mark Ruffalo, continuing the narrative after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
