3 Nov
Summary
- Stars found Collin Gosselin to be a problem at boot camp.
- Gosselin acted like an alpha, wanting to be in charge.
- He was dealt a different hand in life, lacking brotherhood.

On Oliver Hudson's podcast, "Sibling Revelry," "Baywatch" alum David Charvet discussed his experiences with Collin Gosselin during "Special Forces." Both Hudson and Charvet admitted Gosselin was a difficult recruit at the boot camp. Hudson stated that he, Charvet, and Matt Barnes separately addressed Gosselin's behavior.
Charvet explained that while the show's intensity could cause anyone to lose their temper, Gosselin's actions stemmed from a different upbringing. He noted that Gosselin didn't learn the "brotherhood" code of pulling someone aside privately rather than criticizing them publicly. Charvet felt Gosselin was dealt a different set of cards, leading to his behavior.
Gosselin reportedly exhibited a desire to be the "alpha" among recruits like Candace Cameron Bure and Alexia Umansky. Charvet felt Gosselin acted as if he were in charge without earning it, possibly influenced by his Marine background. Hudson agreed, calling Gosselin a "sweet kid with a lot of stuff going on."
Hudson's own tension with Gosselin was shown on the series when he advised Gosselin on his "tone" as a young man. Gosselin, son of exes Jon and Kate Gosselin, reflected on feeling alone and unable to build stable relationships due to growing up with constant TV cameras. He has previously accused his mother, Kate, of child abuse and shared his struggles with her institutionalizing him as a child, which he claims was unwarranted.
