Soul Mate: Taecyeon & Isomura's LGBTQ+ Drama Arrives This Summer

Fans eagerly awaiting 'Soul Mate,' the new drama featuring Ok Taecyeon and Hayato Isomura, can mark their calendars for this summer's release. The series, which had an initial expected debut in 2025, experienced production adjustments leading to a revised premiere date of May 14, 2026. The announcement was made on Wednesday, confirming the long wait is nearing its end.

This intimate drama explores the complex themes of friendship, love, loneliness, and healing within an LGBTQ+ narrative. The story follows Ryu Narutaki, portrayed by Isomura, a troubled young man from Japan, who is saved by Johan Hwang, a Korean boxer played by Taecyeon. Their chance encounter blossoms into a profound bond that transforms both their lives, as they help each other heal from past pain and loneliness.

The series traces their evolving friendship over a decade, with their journey spanning across Berlin, Seoul, and Tokyo. Director and writer Shunki Hashizume confirmed the update, acknowledging the wait with a social media message.
