Sony Pictures and Macro have solidified a strategic alliance, agreeing to an exclusive first look at feature film projects from Macro. This expanded partnership also includes a commitment to co-finance select feature films.
Under the terms of the agreement, Sony Pictures will be responsible for releasing one feature production annually that is developed and co-financed by Macro Film Studios. This move deepens the existing relationship between the two companies.
This collaboration follows recent successes such as Macro's co-financing of Sony Pictures Animation's hit film 'GOAT,' which has grossed over $163 million globally. Previously, Macro also co-financed and produced Sony's TriStar Pictures film 'One of Them Days,' starring Keke Palmer and SZA, which was a commercial success last year and has a sequel in development.
Charles D. King, Founder & CEO of Macro, expressed pride in expanding the relationship, highlighting Sony as an outstanding partner. Sanford Panitch, President of Sony Pictures' Motion Picture Group, noted Macro's unique approach to finding distinctive stories and praised their track record as creative studio partners, producers, and co-financiers.
