In a major development, Sony Pictures Television and CBS have reached an amicable resolution to their year-long legal dispute over the distribution of the popular game shows Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune.
Under the settlement, Sony will gradually take over various aspects of the two shows' distribution, starting with international markets on December 1, 2025. CBS will continue to distribute Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune in the United States through the 2027-28 season, after which Sony will assume full domestic distribution rights.
Additionally, Sony will take over marketing, promotion and affiliate relations after the current 2025-26 season, while CBS Media Ventures will have a larger role in ad sales, exclusively handling that aspect of the business through 2029-30.
