Nearly a decade ago, celebrated singer Sonu Nigam embarked on a unique experiment, performing undercover on the streets of Juhu, Mumbai. Disguised as an elderly beggar with extensive makeup, he sang with a harmonium, seeking an authentic performance experience away from his established fame.

A poignant interaction involved a young boy named Shahbaaz, who, after being moved by Nigam's singing, offered him Rs 12. This gesture deeply affected Nigam, who later managed to find Shahbaaz and invite him home. The boy was surprised and emotional, unaware he would meet the singer he admired.

This street performance, likened to Cristiano Ronaldo's 2015 stunt, became more than a celebrity prank for Nigam. It provided a chance to empathize with others, connect with strangers, and experience the humility of performing without guaranteed recognition or applause.
