16 Oct
Summary
- Snoop Dogg teams up with GLAAD to support LGBTQ+ youth
- Collaborates with LGBTQ+ artist Jeremy Beloate on new children's song
- Snoop's animated series Doggyland features same-sex families

In a surprising turn of events, rapper Snoop Dogg has embraced LGBTQ+ inclusion after facing backlash for his previous criticism of the same-sex couple featured in Disney's 2022 movie Lightyear. As of October 16, 2025, Snoop has teamed up with GLAAD, the LGBTQ+ media advocacy organization, to support Spirit Day, an annual initiative that promotes visibility and acceptance for LGBTQ+ youth.
Snoop's support goes beyond just wearing purple in solidarity. He has collaborated with LGBTQ+ artist Jeremy Beloate, who competed on Snoop's team on The Voice, on a new song titled "Love is Love" that is featured in a recent episode of Snoop's animated children's series Doggyland on YouTube. The song celebrates diverse families, including same-sex parents, and their unique bonds.
In an interview, Snoop expressed his desire to use the platform of Doggyland to address questions and concerns that children may have about LGBTQ+ relationships and families. "It's teaching situations that kids in the world is going through right now in a beautiful way through song, dance, melody, just trying to get more clarity on how we live and the way we live," he said, emphasizing the importance of representation and understanding.
Snoop's shift in perspective comes nearly two months after he sparked controversy for his comments about the same-sex kiss scene in Lightyear, which he said "fucked me up" and left him "scared to go to the movies." However, it seems the rapper has since reflected on his initial reaction and is now actively working to promote LGBTQ+ acceptance, particularly for the younger generation.
