The life of rap icon Snoop Dogg is being brought to the big screen in an R-rated biopic titled "Snoop," with a theatrical release scheduled for August 6, 2027. Directed by Craig Brewer, known for "Hustle & Flow," the film aims to present the definitive story of the artist and entrepreneur.
Jonathan Daviss, star of "Outer Banks," has been cast in the leading role of Snoop Dogg. While specific plot details remain under wraps, the biopic is confirmed to incorporate music from Snoop Dogg's extensive catalog, celebrating his significant contributions to music and popular culture.
"Snoop" is the first project to emerge from Death Row Pictures, Snoop Dogg's content label, under its overall deal with Universal Pictures. Production for the film is expected to commence this summer. Snoop Dogg himself will serve as a producer, alongside Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer and Death Row Pictures President Sara Ramaker.
