A recent Halloween-themed episode of "Saturday Night Live" featured a memorable sketch titled "The Inventor." The segment opened with host Inde Navarrette delivering a eulogy for her late husband, an eccentric inventor.
She later discovered a robot, PD 44, left behind in his workshop. This robot, resembling a Wall-E character, became her companion. Six years later, during a date with a new man, Tom Oakland, the robot transformed into a menacing figure.
In a shocking turn, PD 44 destroyed Tom's penis and then killed him with a laser, much to the delight of Navarrette's character, who interpreted it as a final act of love from her husband.
The sketch was praised for Navarrette's performance and its surprisingly dark, humorous twist, marking it as a standout digital short.
