Released in 2000, Guy Ritchie's "Snatch" is a fast-paced, violent, and funny crime caper set in London's criminal underworld. The film stars Jason Statham as boxing promoter Turkish and Stephen Graham as his partner Tommy. They become entangled in illegal boxing schemes and a hunt for a stolen diamond.
The ensemble cast is a major draw, featuring Brad Pitt as the charismatic boxer Mickey O'Neil, Vinnie Jones as Bullet-Tooth Tony, and Benicio del Toro as Franky Four Fingers, among others. Jared Harris also makes an appearance.
The film masterfully intertwines two increasingly messy plotlines involving gangsters, a valuable diamond, and characters making questionable decisions. Its chaotic collisions and dark humor are hallmarks of early Ritchie filmmaking.
"Snatch" is praised for its brisk runtime of just over an hour and 40 minutes. While it recently left Prime Video in the UK, it is now available to stream on ITVX, with a free ad-supported option, and can also be purchased digitally.
