Will Smith joins Indian epic 'Raaka' as villain?

Hollywood actor Will Smith is reportedly being considered for a pivotal role in director Atlee's upcoming sci-fi action epic, tentatively titled 'Raaka.' Discussions between the filmmakers and Smith have purportedly spanned nearly a year, with the actor potentially set to portray the primary antagonist. If confirmed, Smith would shoot his scenes during an overseas schedule, with the location to be determined based on his availability. This potential collaboration has generated significant excitement among the crew.

Adding to the intrigue, reports suggest that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan might also participate in the film's international shooting schedule. While previously uncertain, current indications are that Khan will commence filming for 'Raaka' after September, following his work on 'King.' This could lead to a remarkable on-screen pairing of Smith and Khan.

'Raaka' is envisioned as a large-scale project blending historical elements with contemporary science fiction and fantasy. The story is said to unfold across two distinct timelines: one set in a tribal Puranic Vedic era and the other in the modern period, with an interconnected narrative linking both.
