Smita Patil's Last Makeup: A Heartbreaking Tribute

Smita Patil, a celebrated actress in Hindi cinema, is remembered for her iconic roles in films like 'Mandi' and 'Arth'. Tragically, she passed away at the age of 31, shortly after giving birth to her son, Prateik. Her death occurred only a few days after she gave birth.

Veteran makeup artist Deepak Sawant shared poignant memories of Patil's final moments. He revealed that Patil often expressed a wish to die as a married woman, a sentiment that deeply moved him. He recalled the heartbreaking experience of applying her makeup for her funeral.

Sawant described how Patil's body was preserved on ice for several days until her sister arrived from Chicago. During this period, her body had swollen. In front of Amitabh Bachchan and others, Patil's mother entrusted Sawant with a makeup kit, reiterating her daughter's wish to be adorned as a 'suhagan' for her last journey.

Overcome with emotion, Sawant tearfully fulfilled this last request, ensuring Patil looked beautiful. Her son, Prateik, has recently honored his mother's legacy by changing his surname from Babbar to Prateik Smita Patil, keeping her memory alive.
