The influential stoner rock outfit Sleep has released "Have Spacesuit Will Travel," their first new music since 2018's "The Sciences." This track also debuts a refreshed lineup led by bassist and songwriter Al Cisneros.
The new music was released via Third Man Records. It coincides with the announcement of a fall North American tour commencing September 8, 2026, in San Diego. The band's bassist, Al Cisneros, also penned the debut issue of the Sleep Comic Book.
"Have Spacesuit Will Travel" heralds a new phase for Sleep. Cisneros stated that "the music and art are alive," and it's time for the band to "move forward." He wished former guitarist Matt Pike well.
The current Sleep lineup features drummer Dale Crover and guitarist Bubba Dupree. Cisneros noted the immediate chemistry, describing Dupree as "one of the coolest people" he's made music with.
Beyond music, Cisneros is expanding Sleep's narrative through the Sleep Comic Book, illustrated by Dave Kloc and Arik Roper. The comic follows the Marijuanaut through Sleep's universe. A limited bundle includes a flexidisc of the new track and other collectibles.
The tour includes dates in Austin, Seattle, and San Francisco, with artist presales starting June 23, 2026, and general sales on June 25, 2026.
