The Sky Soul Festival is returning to Louisville's Waterfront Park for its third year, with this year's event themed "Festival Gets Bigger." Organizer Lanona Nelson stated the festival aims to bring people together for live music.
The festivities will commence on Friday, August 7, with a pre-concert "All White Affair" at Mellwood Art Center. The main concert events will take place at Waterfront Park on Saturday, August 8, from 3 to 11 p.m.
Headlining the festival is Grammy winner Fantasia. Also featured are R&B artists Johnny Gill and Bobby Brown. Rap artists Busta Rhymes and DJ Kool are also scheduled to perform.
Tickets can be purchased online at skysoulfestival.com or locally at Better Days Records and Well Suited Men's Clothing. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Sky Foundation, which supports high school students pursuing music-related futures.
