Director Vrotsos described "Situations" as a "love letter to Los Angeles," inspired by personal experiences. The film aims to provide a raw and relatable portrayal of dating and relationships, capturing a sense of longing often associated with the city but rarely depicted on screen. Circle Collective, Utopia, is distributing the film.
The film's theatrical and event-screening tour is scheduled to begin in Los Angeles on May 22 at the American Cinematheque. "Situations" features an ensemble cast including P.J. Byrne, Melora Walters, Gino Vento, Katie Parker, Fiona Dourif, and Fernanda Andrade. It had its world premiere at the Oldenburg Film Festival and its US premiere at The Downtown Festival in New York.
Kyle Greenberg of Circle Collective highlighted the film's blend of humor, anxiety, sensuality, and sadness, all underlined with substance. He expressed excitement for audiences to experience this "exciting reminder that truly independent filmmaking still exists and is thriving." The film was produced by Vrotsos, Daniel Hartigan, Nicholas Faiella, and Bay Dariz, with Elgin James, Mike Hermosa, Ryan Moore, and Zach Tinker serving as executive producers.
