Simu Liu's Wedding: Grandparents' Spirit Felt
14 Oct
Summary
- Simu Liu married Allison Hsu in France on Oct. 3, 2026.
- Liu felt his late grandparents' presence during the ceremony.
- The couple's relationship began at a Fourth of July barbecue in 2022.
Marvel star Simu Liu, 37, and Allison Hsu, vice president of digital marketing at Interscope Records, recently celebrated their union in France. The couple tied the knot on the weekend of October 3, 2026, at the picturesque Château d'Estoublon in Provence.
Liu shared that he was overwhelmed with emotion seeing his life partner at the aisle. Hsu honored her Taiwanese heritage with a dress by Nicole + Felicia, while Liu opted for a look from Asian-Canadian-founded Garrison Bespoke, paired with a Versace jacket.
A particularly poignant moment for Liu was the weather. Rainfall preceding their evening ceremony cleared just as it began, a moment he described as a sign from his late grandparents, who passed from COVID-19 in 2021. He felt their presence, noting the timing of the drizzle as his parents were seated.
The couple, who first met at a Fourth of July barbecue in 2022, shared their first dance as newlyweds to a rendition of Etta James's "At Last" by Reneé Rapp. Both Liu and Hsu expressed profound gratitude for the incredible effort involved in their destination wedding.
