Young painter Simmer Rajpal recently held an exhibition, 'Khoj- An Ongoing Search,' at Jawahar Kala Kendra's Surekh Art Gallery. Rajpal, a recent high school graduate, draws inspiration from nature, heritage, and everyday life to explore emotions and perceptions through his art. His artistic practice encompasses painting, observation, portraiture, and mixed-media exploration.
Rajpal's artistic journey began at age 13. He honed his skills across various mediums, including acrylic, watercolor, oil, charcoal, graphite, and pencil, particularly during the COVID pandemic when he dedicated more time to his craft. This passion, which started as a hobby, evolved into a strength.
His works have been displayed both in India and internationally, notably being selected for an exhibition in Manchester, UK. The exhibition was inaugurated by artists Vinay Sharma and Damodar Lal Gurjar, alongside Rajeev Batra. Former school faculty and students attended to support the young artist.
