Summary
- Sikh community objects to viral poster linked to Ranveer Singh's film.
- Poster allegedly shows Sikh character smoking, violating religious principles.
- Community demands removal of poster and legal action against film.

A controversy has emerged surrounding actor Ranveer Singh's film, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, following strong objections from the Sikh community over a viral poster. The complaint, filed at Mumbai's Mulund Police Station, alleges that the poster offends Sikh religious sentiments by depicting a character in traditional Sikh attire, complete with a turban, while smoking a cigarette. This imagery is considered a grave violation of Sikh principles and disrespectful to the community and Guru Gobind Singh.
Members of the community have demanded immediate action from the Mumbai Police, including the removal and cessation of circulation of the controversial poster. They also called for the suspension of the film's screening until corrective measures are taken and for legal proceedings against the director, producers, and lead actor. The complaint specifically highlighted the sacredness of the turban and kara, noting their depiction alongside a cigarette as a violation of the Sikh code of conduct.
Further complicating the matter, it was later revealed that the widely circulated poster was fan-made and generated using AI, with no song titled 'Pralay' as some reports suggested. This clarification came after initial outrage, including a detailed post on X that was based on the mistaken belief of the poster's authenticity. As of the current reporting, the film's makers have not issued an official statement regarding the developing situation.
