Summary
- Sigourney Weaver considers 'Alien 3' one of her all-time favorite sequels
- The film had an amazing cast and crew that she holds dear
- The original script was quite different from the final version

In a recent panel discussion at the Comic Con event, legendary actress Sigourney Weaver, one of the original members of the 'Alien' franchise, opened up about her fondness for the third installment of the series, 'Alien 3'. Despite the film's mixed critical reception, Weaver expressed that it is one of her all-time favorite sequels.
Weaver shared that she felt 20th Century Fox was smart to keep choosing gifted directors who wanted to do something completely different with the 'Alien' story. She praised the film's amazing cast and crew, all of whom she holds dear to her heart. Weaver was also "shocked" by the fact that many beloved and long-running characters in the series were killed off in the movie, but she understood that "these things happen" in the world of space.
Furthermore, Weaver revealed that the original script for 'Alien 3' was quite different from the final product. The original writer, Vincent Ward, had placed the setting of the film around a group of monks in a medieval garden in space. Weaver was not thrilled about the idea of her character, Ellen Ripley, crashing there and staying in a coma for more than half of the film. However, she put her faith in director David Fincher, and the script was ultimately scrapped.
