Jamie-Lynn Sigler, celebrated for her role as Meadow Soprano, is reflecting on a moment from a 2001 appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno that has caused her significant guilt. In her recently released memoir, "And So It Is... A Memoir of Acceptance and Hope," Sigler recounts her immediate regret after sharing a personal story about her late co-star, James Gandolfini.
Sigler, who was 45 at the time of the memoir's release in May 2026, felt pressured by producers to share an amusing behind-the-scenes anecdote from her time on The Sopranos. Struggling to recall a suitable story, she eventually divulged that Gandolfini sometimes made animalistic noises to prepare for intense scenes.
Although the story was received positively by the show's production team, Sigler later felt it was a "transgression" and a "betrayal of Jim's trust." She expressed profound remorse and anger at herself for sharing the private detail. Gandolfini passed away in June 2013, and Sigler never discussed the anecdote with him before his death.
