The highly anticipated "Sicario 3" is officially moving forward, with original stars Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, and Benicio del Toro confirmed to return. Padraic McKinley, known for "The Weight," is set to direct the project, working from a script by Steven Knight. Plot details for the new installment have not yet been revealed.
Production is scheduled to begin early next year. While Lionsgate distributed the first two films, the producers are now seeking a studio for the third movie. Taylor Sheridan, who wrote the initial "Sicario" and its sequel "Sicario: Day of the Soldado," has passed the writing duties to Knight, who is also penning a new 007 entry.
McKinley's directorial debut, "The Weight," premiered at Sundance earlier this year. Brolin is set to appear in "Dune: Part III," while Del Toro recently received a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role in "One Battle After Another."
