Sia Settles Custody Battle Over Son Summi
19 Oct
Summary
- Sia will remain primary custodial parent of her son.
- The former couple finalized terms for holidays and vacations.
- Sia pays $42,500 monthly in child support to her ex.

Singer Sia and her estranged husband, Daniel Bernad, have reached a settlement in their custody dispute concerning their son, Somersault Wonder Bernad (Summi). The agreement, finalized recently, designates Sia as the primary custodial parent while granting Daniel extensive visitation rights. This resolution marks an end to their public disagreement over child custody arrangements.
The terms include a structured schedule for holidays and vacations, a commitment to work with a parenting plan coordinator, and a defined process for determining Summi's preschool. In April, the former couple agreed that Sia would pay Daniel $42,500 monthly in child support, sharing legal custody and dividing holidays.
This settlement follows a period of intense legal conflict. Daniel had previously accused Sia of endangering their child and sought full custody. A judge had rejected his emergency custody request, reinforcing Sia's position as Summi's primary custodian since this month marked one year since Daniel's initial filing for emergency custody. The couple married in March 2023 and divorced roughly two years later.
