16 Oct
Summary
- Shrek 2 video game remaster trailer leaked online.
- Remaster promises 4K resolution, enhanced graphics, and photo mode.
- Aspyr Media, known for ports, is developing the remaster.

A teaser trailer for a remastered version of the Shrek 2 video game has surfaced, hinting at a new lease on life for the green ogre beyond films. The leaked trailer, which mimicked the style of Grand Theft Auto 6 announcements, was quickly removed, along with its Microsoft Store listing. This listing indicated the remaster would feature enhanced textures, an improved user interface, and 4K resolution support. It also planned to include a photo mode and support for four-player co-op, blending online and local play.
Aspyr Media, a developer recognized for its work on ports and remasters of titles like Star Wars games and Tomb Raider, is reportedly behind this project. Coincidentally, Aspyr also ported the original Shrek 2 game to Mac over twenty years ago. While no release date or price has been announced, the game is expected to appear on PC and PlayStation consoles in addition to the listed Xbox Series X|S. The remaster is likely to be officially revealed at the upcoming ID@Xbox Showcase on October 20th, following a Steam achievement leak in September that also suggested its existence.
