Summary
- Sho Miyake's award-winning film plays in New York City this April.
- The film features acclaimed actors Shim Eun-kyung and Shinichi Tsutsumi.
- This marks the first U.S. theatrical release for director Miyake's work.

Japanese director Sho Miyake's latest cinematic offering, "Two Seasons, Two Strangers," is scheduled for a significant New York debut this April. The film, which garnered the prestigious Golden Leopard at the 2025 Locarno Film Festival, will be showcased at Film at Lincoln Center and MoMA's New Directors/New Films festival.
Following its festival run, "Two Seasons, Two Strangers" will open at the Metrograph theater later in April. This release is particularly notable as it represents the first proper U.S. theatrical distribution for Miyake's extensive body of work, which includes previous acclaimed films.
The narrative follows two distinct encounters: one in summer between Nagisa and Natsuo by the sea, and another in winter between screenwriter Li and a guesthouse owner named Benzo. Miyake's skill in translating interiority into fable-like storytelling is a key element, drawing inspiration from existing material.
"Two Seasons, Two Strangers" will be presented at New York City's New Directors/New Films festival on April 17 and April 19, before its theatrical premiere at the Metrograph on April 24, with further expansion planned.
