Shivamogga is gearing up for its 63rd Pushpa Siri, a vibrant flower show and millets fair, scheduled to take place at Allama Freedom Park from January 24 to January 27. This Republic Day celebration is jointly organized by the zilla panchayat, the horticulture department, and the District Garden Art Association.
The event promises impressive displays, including a towering 60-foot-wide and 22-foot-high replica of the iconic Jog Falls. Attendees will also marvel at a 16-foot fort replica complete with a statue of Shivappa Nayaka, and a 15-foot model of the Balligavi Kedareshwara Temple.
Adding to the attractions will be an 'I Love Shivamogga' selfie point and a special bonsai plant exhibition. The accompanying millets fair will showcase a variety of handmade items like pottery, macramé products, traditional Hase Chittara art, paddy torans, wild date palm mats, clay jewelry, and wood carvings. These artisanal goods are produced by rural women from different districts and other states, highlighting local craftsmanship.
