Shivaji Satam recently shared heartfelt memories of his nearly 40-year friendship with the late actor Nana Patekar during a memorial gathering in Mumbai. Satam expressed his disbelief at Patekar's sudden passing, emphasizing his friend's profound impact on his professional life.
Patekar was instrumental in guiding Satam into Hindi cinema, notably convincing him to accept the role in the film 'Yashwant.' Beyond career advice, Patekar actively ensured Satam received fair remuneration, even confronting producers when he felt his friend was underpaid.
Furthermore, Patekar extended significant personal support when Satam's wife was diagnosed with cancer during the filming of 'Ghulam-E-Musthafa.' His intervention led to a flexible work schedule, allowing Satam to manage his family's needs while continuing his acting commitments.
