Sheinelle Jones, a TODAY anchor, has announced the release of her first book, 'Through Mom's Eyes: Simple Wisdom From Mothers Who Raised Extraordinary Humans,' on Monday, March 23. This collection compiles lessons from the mothers of influential figures such as Lady Gaga, Stephen Curry, and the Williams sisters.
The book's concept originated in 2020 but was postponed following the fatal cancer battle of Jones' husband, Uche Ojeh, who passed away in May 2025 at age 45. He had urged her to continue writing the book.
Further delays occurred after the passing of Jones' grandmother, Josephine Vonceal Pace Brown, in December 2025. Her grandmother was a significant influence on the book and was slated to participate in its promotional tour. Jones describes the book as a "love letter to motherhood," written during a difficult personal time, emphasizing that motherhood's demands intensify during hardship.
