Summary
- Sheinelle Jones is stronger than imagined after her husband's death.
- She learned vulnerability to better support her grieving children.
- Her husband, Uche, died at 45 from Glioblastoma brain cancer.

Nearly a year has passed since the death of Sheinelle Jones' husband of 17 years, Uche, and the Today Show host is sharing how the past 12 months have profoundly changed her and their three children.
Jones described herself as "stronger than I could have ever imagined," a quality she inherited from her mother. However, as she guided her children through their grief, she realized the necessity of becoming "a lot more vulnerable." She noted, "I have to reel that in, because it can come across as insensitive, and I don't want to be that."
Uche Ojeh passed away at the age of 45 due to Glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. His death was announced on the Today Show by his colleagues, who expressed their deep sympathy for Jones and their family. They remembered Uche as an incredible person and a devoted father, always present for his children's events.
Sheinelle and Uche were married for 18 years and were parents to son Kayin, 15, and 12-year-old fraternal twins Clara and Uche. While still grieving, Jones has also taken time to celebrate herself and her journey, recognizing the hard work and dedication that brought her to her current position. She joined Today in 2014 and now co-hosts the fourth hour.
