Sharon Stone's underwear auction indignity

Actress Sharon Stone has ensured she retains ownership of her costumes by incorporating this clause into her contracts since the 1980s. This firm decision stemmed from a profoundly "degrading" experience where she witnessed her underwear and bras being displayed for sale on a table outside a television show set.

Stone recounted this incident, stating her manager initially found her request unusual. However, she emphasized her determination to prevent such public and embarrassing displays of her personal items. She noted that fellow actresses Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds had successfully implemented similar contract terms.

Her career has also faced significant challenges, including a severe health crisis in 2001. A vertebral artery rupture and subsequent stroke led to a nine-day brain bleed, from which it took seven years to recover. This period forced her to rebuild her career from the ground up.

More recently, Stone has appeared in "In Memoriam" and "Babies," with the latter expected in 2027. She also had a role in "Euphoria" earlier in 2026. In a 2022 Instagram post, she humorously suggested her children auction her costumes to compensate for past unequal pay.
