A new film, simply titled "Shania," is being developed by Sony Pictures to tell the life story of country music superstar Shania Twain. Leah McKendrick, known for her work on "Scrambled" and upcoming Netflix romantic comedy "Voicemails for Isabelle," is slated to write and direct the biopic. Twain herself is expected to be involved in the production as a producer.
The film's narrative will likely draw inspiration from Twain's remarkable journey from Windsor, Ontario, to international stardom in the 1990s. Her extensive catalog of hit songs, including "Man! I Feel Like a Woman" and "That Don't Impress Me Much," provides a rich backdrop for the movie.
In addition to the biopic, Twain is also gearing up for the release of her seventh studio album, "Little Miss Twain," scheduled for July 24. She described the upcoming record as a "reflection of my childhood" and the environment in which she grew up, celebrating her upcoming 60th birthday.
"Little Miss Twain" follows her 2023 album "Queen of Me." Twain expressed that revisiting her past with a positive outlook for the new album has been a fulfilling experience, allowing her to embrace and share how her experiences have shaped her.
