The upcoming film Shakti Shalini from Maddock Films integrates Bengali folklore into a horror-comedy narrative, focusing on supernatural and revenge elements. Aneet Padda takes on a dual role, portraying Shakti, a woman who becomes a protector, and Shalini, a spirit driven by vengeance after a betrayal.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film's final shooting schedule concluded on May 27 with a significant climax sequence filmed at Chitrarth Studio in Powai. This scene depicted villagers celebrating the defeat of evil, with elaborate sets recreating a Rajasthani village and house interiors.
Filming progressed rapidly since March, with the cast and crew traveling extensively across Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Key scenes involving the antagonist, played by Viineet Kumar Siingh, were shot in various locations including Chambal and Gwalior, alongside schedules in Dholpur and Barkhandi in Rajasthan.
Veteran actors Nana Patekar and Seema Biswas, along with Vishal Jethwa, are also part of the cast. Shakti Shalini joins Maddock Films' established horror-comedy slate, which includes successful titles like Stree, Munjya, and Bhediya.
