Broadway Star's Health Leave Amid Pregnancy Loss Heartbreak

Shaina Taub, currently starring in Lincoln Center Theater's revival of Ragtime, will step away from the production from January 6, 2026, to March 29, 2026. This decision comes after a challenging year during which she experienced three pregnancy losses. Taub shared her story on Instagram, hoping to destigmatize conversations around grief and reproductive health.

Taub detailed the emotional and physical toll of her losses, including a first-trimester miscarriage, a second-trimester TFMR, and another miscarriage that required hospitalization and a D&C procedure. She expressed gratitude for the support from Lincoln Center Theater and her castmates, noting her intention to return to the show. Taub also emphasized the need for open dialogue about these difficult experiences.

Furthermore, Taub drew attention to the critical intersection of reproductive healthcare, specifically highlighting how procedures for miscarriage management, like D&Cs, are identical to abortion procedures and are now subject to bans in over 20 states. She advocated for the legality and accessibility of reproductive care, urging support for organizations that provide essential services to those facing similar crises.
