Shaan: 25+ Newcomers' First Voice, Few Made It Big

Playback singer Shaan shared insights into his extensive career, particularly his role in launching new actors' careers. He revealed that he has lent his voice to approximately 25 to 26 newcomers, a significant number that sets a unique record. Shaan explained that by the time he emerged in the music industry, the trend shifted towards multiple singers on an album, adding variety. He consciously adapted his singing style to match the persona and vocal characteristics of actors, such as adapting for Saif Ali Khan's "urban swag" and Aamir Khan's character in Fanaa. He recalled singing the debut songs for actors like Dino Morea, Arjun Rampal, Riteish Deshmukh, Zayed Khan, and Harman Baweja. Reflecting on this, Shaan humorously pointed out that while he provided the initial vocal platform for many, a notable number of these actors did not achieve substantial stardom, a fact he described as a self-inflicted setback.
