Buffy Reboot Canceled; Seth Green Open to Oz Return

Seth Green revealed on "The McBride Rewind" podcast that he had no part in discussions regarding a potential return as Oz in Hulu's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" reboot. He stated, "I was not part of those talks." However, Green expressed openness to rejoining the franchise, saying, "If they wrote an Oz story, I'd love to see where Oz is right now."
The original "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" series, which ran for seven seasons from 1997 to 2003, followed Sarah Michelle Gellar as the titular vampire slayer. The planned reboot, titled "Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale," was set to premiere in March 2025.
Hulu ultimately decided not to move forward with the project. Sarah Michelle Gellar shared the news on Instagram, expressing her sadness. The pilot was set to star Ryan Kiera Armstrong as the new slayer, with Gellar returning in a role. Representatives for 20th Century and Hulu did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
