US actress Selma Blair has denied allegations of assaulting multiple individuals during a flight from Los Angeles to New York. Her publicist stated that Blair experienced a medical emergency, exacerbated by her ongoing struggle with multiple sclerosis (MS) and a related neurological condition known as pseudobulbar affect (PBA).
Blair pleaded not guilty to federal charges of assault within the special maritime and territorial jurisdiction of the US. Additional state assault charges were also filed against her. Her team has asserted that the public narrative relies heavily on a police statement and outdated information, refuting claims she attempted to open the aircraft door.
The incident on the Delta Airlines flight resulted in injuries to two flight attendants, one of whom required hospitalization. Audio recordings from air traffic control indicated a request for medical help due to visible injuries. Blair was arrested and subsequently received a federal summons and state charges.
