Summary
- Shein allegedly used Selena's face on clothing without permission.
- Suzette Quintanilla seeks to halt sales and recover Shein's profits.
- A cease and desist letter was reportedly ignored by the company.

Suzette Quintanilla, sister of the late music icon Selena Quintanilla-Perez, has initiated legal action against the online retailer Shein. She alleges that Shein has been commercially exploiting Selena's image by featuring it on clothing sold through its website without any form of authorization. The lawsuit claims that Shein used Selena's likeness on various apparel items without obtaining permission or seeking consent.
According to the court filings, Suzette and Selena's music company, Q-Productions, maintain strict control over the singer's image. A cease and desist letter was reportedly sent to Shein on or around August 1, 2025. However, the suit contends that Shein disregarded this request and persisted in selling the unauthorized merchandise. Suzette is now seeking judicial intervention to halt Shein's operations and recover all profits derived from the unauthorized use of Selena's likeness, in addition to other damages.
